To ensure you get the most out of your TECC candles, we recommend the following:

Trim Your Wick Length

Trim your wicks to 6mm before relighting. This will help your candle to stay alight, burn more evenly and will actually help the candle to burn longer.

Lighting Your Candle

Our wood wicks light quite easily but it is best to use a utility lighter with a longer neck or longer matches so you do not burn your fingers on the flame. Same applies to all our cotton wick candles.

Burn Time

The first time you light your soy candle allow it to burn to the edge of the jar to create a candle memory and prevent future tunnelling. Each and every burn should go for 4 hours no more and no less.

Keep Away From Sunlight

Sunlight is not a candle's friend. Any fragrance containing vanilla may yellow if exposed to sunlight or fluorescent lights, this does not affect the burn just the look of your candle and it is perfectly natural for the yellow appearance to occur in soy wax candles.

Excessive Burning

Do not burn for more than 4 hours as this can create overheating, this causes your candle to burn faster and could cause glass breakage. The extended heat also burns off your fragrance reducing the life of your candle. You may also find when excess or ‘power burning’ you never get the, manufactures recommended burn time. This is due to the overuse of your wicks, the flame being too large, the candle jar getting too hot and well evidently your wax will start to evaporate thus not getting the accurate burn time from your candles.

Safe Burning

Always keep your candle on a flat, fire-resistant surface and never move it once lit.

Never leave a burning candle unattended.

Keep away from children, pets & flammable materials.

Keep your candles free from wick trimmings and matches.
